MaxCast is a great wax for modeling/Sculpture developed by DimClay. This wax was made to fill the needs that other waxes were leaving behind. It is very hard, but works great when warm, it´s possible to sand and polishing to give a superior finish for your sculpture.
-Hard wax, but very precise on carving, but not brittle;
-Drop-resistant (to some extent, of course);
-It works great with waxpen;
-It feels like super sculpey when warm at the right temperature;
-Tan Color (color of the clay C15 and C9) pleasing to the eye and allows viewing of light and shadow more easily;
-It enables you to cast, it has high fluidity and makes no bubbles when melted, so it works great to be melted and poured into molds to make a positive piece of an existing model (approximately 3% shrinkage when melted at 167 ºF);
-Works well with D-Limonene and Alcohol torch and also can be sanded;
-Can be used in the process of electro-plating for copper mold making to produce vinyl castings;
-It is not essential to use armature but it makes easyer the initial positioning of the character.
-Can be heated in the same way that the Oil Clay, bulb oven, heat gun or hair dryers.
